A herbal tea made from the flowers is good for anaemia, headache, insomnia, jaundice, chest congestion, and catarrh. A tea made from the herb has been used for uterine cramping and menstrual difficulties. The oil extract also make a good external application for burns, wounds, sores, bruises, and other skin problems.
It is believed that burning the plant in bonfires would drive away evil spirits, purify the air and promote healthy crop growth.

Tonight's episode began with more accusations from the women's team toward Barbie - who apparently isn't in the market to make any new friends and purposefully woke up early to create a disruption in the kitchen.
But the melee ended early when Ramsay summoned the cooks to a swearing in ceremony for a new group of American citizens in the Hell's Kitchen dining room.
The teams were charged with serving an all American meal of California Cobb Salad followed by three entrees; Nebraska Beef Sliders, New York style pizza, and a Wisconsin Grilled Cheese Sandwich as their reward challenge.
The team that finished serving their side of the dining room first would be the challenge winner.
Despite the fact that the entire women's team could benefit from an exorcism, they somehow managed to pull it together to win today's reward: a trip in a private jet to a San Diego safari with Gordon Ramsay - while the men's team spent the day working outdoors in the hot sun logging a very large, thick tree.
While at lunch with Ramsay, the women make a promise to complete dinner service and as both teams geared up, a power struggle between Royce and Patrick (an early favourite of mine) began to emerge.
After two disappointing services from Royce, Ramsay places a call to Royce's boss: Ralph Pagano; Season 1 Hell's Kitchen runner up.
All I can say is, the pep talk must have been sprinkled with some kind of magic cooking dust, because Royce delivered perfect risotto on appetizers right afterward..
The women, on the other hand, were off to a much bumpier start with a soupy spaghetti from Dana, another round of uncooked scallops from Barbie, and a codastrophe from Brianna who completely halted the dinner service with her charbroiled fish.
Over on the men's side, Clemenza didn't fare much better and pretty much lost his mind cooking Beef Wellington for a table full of soldiers. The sweat poured down his face while Ramsay screamed "Take him to the Marines!" and I wondered if he was going to survive the long walk to the table to apologize for his transgression.
In the meantime, the women botched their beef wellington, cod, and dumplings and as Ramsay ranted "TOUCH THEM! TOUCH THE DUMPLINGS!" he caused them to break their promise and shut the kitchen down while the men somehow managed to complete dinner service.
The women put up Brianna and Barbie and Gordon Ramsay called up a third person; Roshni, who he thinks may be over her head. In the end, though, Brianna, who "fought a cod and the cod won" was asked to leave.

Influenza season is actual at the moment, and we should take care to prepare our immune system. But here I will disuss the use of herb in magick.
In books on magickal herbalism various plants species, from 5 or so genera, are often named Sampson snake. In Hoodoo we can consider only those of belonging to g. Echinacea ( fam. Asteraceae ) and g.Gentian ( fam Gentianaceae ) to have earned the name Sampson snake.
However those plants of genera Gentian, are used mostly in love magick, lust and domination of male, while those that belong to genus Echinacea are used in more than lust, love and domination magick.
In this article I will be discussing Echinacea magickal uses.
Echinacea are perennial, xerophytic plants, belonging to family Astreraceae ( daisies ), growing up o 140cm height. The taxonomic characters easily used to determine the species include central flower disk, that has spiny elongations ( hence the name, echinos means "spine" in Greek ), bracts just bellow the flower head ( 15-50 depending on species ) and the corolla, most often being purple or pink, or pale purple ( Echinacea palida ), though there are species with white or yellow inflorescence ( Echinacea paradoxa for example ). Leafs are very variable, therefore can help in determination but are not among evident taxonomic characters. The nerve count on them, however, can be used to easily inidicate gender, as they count 3-5 nerves. They are native to America, endemic in certain regions, but grown all over the world, mostly industrially.
In magick, like in official herbal medicine, we use three species Echinacea purpurea, Echinacea pallida and Echinacea angustiofolia ( which can be easily identified by narrow lanceted, sometimes pointed leaves and pale purple to pink corolla ).
In Hoodoo, we use root ( Radix Echinaceae ), for different purposes, that include
o increasing male virility and regaining lost ( in from of baths, often combined with Wahoo bark, and/or dill leafs for this )
o inducing lust and seducing and controlling female
o obtaining power and strenght ( often carried in mojo bags )
o healing unnatural diseases
o obtaining admiration and success ( particularly on workplace, though for this is often mixed with other herbs, see the oil recipe later in text )
Europeans use it to amplify magick spells and heal, which is most likely imported from Indian herbal practice, as they use it for such purposes. I have read that *Iroquis wash their guns in Echinacea infusion, so they could aim better.
"**Powdered root" placed in shoes, can bring success, admiration of colleges, and increase physical strength, endurance and delay tiredness. It is commonly combined with Master of the woods, or Masterwort for such. Here are some examples of use
POTION TO CURE UNNATURAL DISEASES OR CONDITIONS
Tea made of equal parts of Echinacea root and Tormentil, will cure unnatural diseases and remove "magickal poisons" from ones body, neutralizing them in the process. A strong tea made of Echinacea root alone will do the trick also.
NOTE : Echinacea tea has medical effects as immune stimulant, thanks to root polysaccharides, alkyamides,chikoric acid and phenols.Some studies show that it might have some ( yet non identified ) anti-viral compound.
HIGH JOB OIL ( OR EXECUTIVE OIL )
This is my formulation for condition oil used to attain business success, get collogues admiration, impress boss, get a raise, and improve leadership qualities.

o Five Finger's grass
o Essential oil of Bergamot

Imbolc is a pagan Holiday celebrated on 1st or 2nd of February and represents the end of winter, the rebirth of Sun, so in order for Sun to defeat the winter darkness candles are lit on this day, and left usually on window shells to help Sun illuminate the Earth and call for spring soon.
Hence the alternative name Candlemass.also used by Christians.
It is a magickal day, when fire energies of purification, banishment and new beginings are ectremly strong, and this year, they are emprowed by Full Moon even more.
The Imbolc is associated with St Brigid, patron saint of Ireland and Gaelic goddess of healing and smitcraft.
But I am pretty sure You knew all of that so I shall rather share few practical tips, what can You do on this holiday ( other than lighting candles of course ) :
BRIGID'S BED ( SOURCE WIKIPEDIA )
One folk tradition that continues in both Christian and Pagan homes on St. Brigid's Day (or Imbolc) is that of the Brigid's Bed. The girls and young, unmarried women of the household or village create a corn dolly to represent Brigid, called the Brideog ("little Brigid" or "young Brigid"), adorning it with ribbons and baubles like shells or stones. They make a bed for the Brideog to lie in. On St. Brigid's Eve (January 31), the girls and young women gather together in one house to stay up all night with the Brideog, and are later visited by all the young men of the community who must ask permission to enter the home, and then treat them and the corn dolly with respect.
WEATHER DIVINATION
Imbolc is the day the Cailleach - the hag of Gaelic tradition - gathers her firewood for the rest of the winter. Legend has it that if she intends to make the winter last a good while longer, she will make sure the weather on Imbolc is bright and sunny, so she can gather plenty of firewood. Therefore, people are generally relieved if Imbolc is a day of foul weather, as it means the Cailleach is asleep and winter is almost over. On the Isle of Man, where She is known as Caillagh ny Groamagh, the Cailleach is said to have been seen on Imbolc in the form of a gigantic bird, carrying sticks in her beak.

Fire oil A good oil to make on this day, is Fire oil. You can use any Fire oil recipe but here is how I make mine :
*3 small garlic cloves
*7 small ginger rhizome pieces( chopped cubes )
a teaspoon of cinnamon
* a teaspoon of Cayenne or Red pepper flakes
* a good pinch of grounded Black pepper
Top all with oil ( 20-30ml should do ) and heat in double boiler for 2-3 hours chanting on occasion something like :
"Fire burns with eternal flame "
"Bless this essence liquid fire to became! "

The first picture shows ingredients topped with oil in a vial, and second oil "bathing" in double boiler I usually like to let my oils stay for a month, yet for this one, being a fire oil I thought warming was more appropriate. Use fire oil for Banishment and Fire curses, vanquishing, exorcism, cleansing etc.
Now I found another Oil recipe, for Wisdom, that is used to dress anoint candles on this Day/Night to inspire Wisdom and Reflections ( Oil is Paganic, Wiccan or European, unlike Fire oil which is more a conjure tradition oil )
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon Rosemary
10 drops of Myrrh oil
Cover with light olive oil, in two ounce tight lid jar. Turn the jar over daily for atleast ten days prior to use,
