Just got back from the Society for Shamanic Practitioners conference where I introduced (and re-introduced) a group of the Society members to Ho'oponopono.
I led a 4-hour workshop that outlined the Hawaiian spiritual concepts (3-selves, kahuna, aka, etc.) and the Ho'oponopono process then mapped these concepts to their shamanic world-view (not all that different...just different words.) We then selected a situation that one of the members presented to the group as the focus of the process.
The group did a shamanic journey to view the situation prior to Ho'oponopono, afterwhich I guided the group through the process having them repeat the process word-for-word from Morrnah's manual. The group then again journeyed to the situation and reported back the pre- and post Ho'oponopono information they received.
Wow!
They were blown away!
One of the journeys saw the pre-Ho'oponopono scene with the people involed competely trapped by a negative energy. Afterward, the negative energy had completely vanished and the people were dancing and playing (this included the "antagonists" that were included in the process.) All of the group witnessed the marked improvement that Ho'oponopono facilitated.
I specifically used the term "re-introduced" as one of the group had studied with Morrnah back in the ealy 70's. She was there to re-learn and refresh here knowledge, however, she had not previously used shamanic work to see the changes. She, too, was blown away.

Sears, along with his partner Alvah Roebuck, soon developed a reputation for quality merchandise at reasonable prices [and] it was natural for Sears, Roebuck to shift its focus from mail order to actual retail stores. In 1925, Sears opened its first retail outlet, [and] by the end of the Roaring Twenties the company was opening a new retail outlet in an American city every two days
Looking ahead and projecting the tremendous outpouring of American population from the cities to the still nascent suburbs, the company started an ambitious expansion plan that placed hundreds of new Sears stores right alongside the new Interstate highways It also branched out beyond America's borders.
These were the halcyon days of homogenized American suburban middle-class conformity, when Sears was the number one retailer [leading to] the Sears Tower in Chicago in 1974.
But, as the children of the baby boom grew and moved out [they] demanded more personalized consumer choices.
The "me" generation of the 1970s [now] put their money first at Kmart, later at Wal-Mart; those that were willing to pay up for more trendy fashions did so at more upscale clothiers Macy's and Nordstrom's. Similar market segmentations occurred with the company's once-lucrative appliance businesses.
By 1991 Wal-Mart replaced Sears as America's leading retailer and has never looked back since. Allrighty here we are at day 6 of my almost daily blogging (damn you Blogger maintenance issues). I'm back with another review and some news. Although I have only been writing for Binnall's website with my 'Fortean Ramblings' column for just over two months and seriously blogging for the past week, upon the encouragement of my girlfriend I decided to send some of my samples to a UFO magazine in the hopes of possibly getting published. I'm not holding my breath but who knows maybe they will end up liking my stuff and let me occasionally write an article or two for them. Obviously I won't name who the magazine is until I have heard from them which will hopefully be soon.
OK now that the news is over we can get into the review. Earlier today my girlfriend and I went to go, as I call it, lolly gagging all over town. (Check my earlier tweets for photos) But basically we went to the mall and just generally wasted gas that we didn't really have. Towards the middle of the afternoon we decided to go see what movies were playing. When we arrived we were a little surprised to see that the movie "Insidious "was still being shown. We had wanted to see that movie so we picked it, and at matinee prices we only had to slightly go into debt to do so. (Warning the below may contain spoilers)
"Insidious" is a horror/thriller movie by the guys who made "Saw/Paranormal Activity". It is genuinely good movie that has some decent bits of 'jumpyness' which is definitely something that I look for in a scary movie. The movie tells the story of a boy who has slipped into a coma and of the paranormal happenings that are going on around him at the same time. Through the course of the movie it is revealed that the child isn't actually in a coma but has used astral projection and simply lost his way back. Because of this the family experiences ghosts/entities that are attempting to cross over to our realm by possessing the child's body. I won't ruin the ending but suffice it to say the movie is really decent. If you can I suggest going to see it in the theaters, but if not getting in on DVD (or using Netflix because this is 2011 after all) simply turn off the lights and prepared to be scared.
Seeing this movie today reminded me of my childhood fascination with astral projection. Ostensibly of course I suppose they could go forward or backwards into time. As a child I had read about this ability and longed to be able to do it.
