Are We Human Or Spiritual
One of my favourite quotes is from Pierre Teilhard de Chardin "We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience."The Witch suggested: "We are human beings having a spiritual experience rather than spiritual beings having a human experience - it puts the emphasis on our humanness and our ability to tap into spirit."This caused a wee reepiphany for me (we often learn things repeatedly until they finally stick): What we are doing with our Magical work is reintegrating the two: human and spirit, noa and tapu. We are letting go of seeing them as separate, we are becoming aware of the humanness of the spirit and the spiritfullness of humans - and in fact they are one. Our religions has taught us they are separate, but they not. Religion has taught us to suppress one or the other or both. Science has taught us that spirit does not exist.We are letting them fly again as one as one. In fact Pierre Teilhard de Chardin said elsewhere: "There is neither spirit nor matter in the world; the stuff of the universe is spirit-matter." We are rediscovering our spirit-matterness, our human-spiritness.
