READING: These Martyrs were disciples of Saint Paul the Confessor (see Nov. 6). Martyrius was a subdeacon, Marcian a chanter and reader. They were beheaded by the Arians in the blind date 346. Miracles were wrought at their crucial, and demons were cast out; Saint John Chrysostom began the organization of the church in their honour in Constantinople, and it was ready by patriarch Sisinius.APOLYTIKION IN THE FOURTH Touch Thy Martyrs, O Peer of the realm, in their courageous contest for Thee normal as the approval the crowns of incorruption and life from Thee, our imperishable God. For in the same way as they frantic Thy determination, they cast down the tyrants and solely destroyed the demons' strengthless nerve. O Christ God, by their prayers, accumulate our souls, in the same way as Thou art affable.

Ye struggled well even from olden background, O practical Martyrius and all-blessed Marcian, and distant unchanged the Expect held by the Orthodox; for ye cast down Arius, the blaspheming renegade, as ye followed as soon as Paul, your divinely-wise tutor. Wherefore with him ye along with resist found life, as God the Trinity's utter champions.
