The Life Everlasting Flower, or Helicrysium stoechas, is an herb indigenous to South and North Carolina. The Helicrysium stoechas, or Life Everlasting Flower, derives its name from the powerful aroma of curry when the leaves or stems are crushed and is a member of the mint family.

The Life Everlasting Flower is a natural astringent. Warm infusions of this herb have been used in leucorrhea, diseases of the bowels, and for hemorrhages.

The flowers of the Life Everlasting Flower are implemented as diaphoretics and discutients and are used regularly as an astringent. Some people have chewed its leaves and flowers as a remedy for mouth and throat ulcerations. Fresh juice from the Life Everlasting Flower has been said to be a powerful aphrodisiac. The stem tops and the flowers of the Life Everlasting Flower are thought to be a deobstruent and expectorant.

In more modern times, the Life Everlasting Flower has seen increased use in skin blends, as well as an aid for bad bruises. It is thought to work by having the blood reabsorbed into the tissue, which removes the discoloration and pain caused by pressure on the nerves.
